Bell Aliant provides Kidsport support for 2015
Bell Aliant donates $10,000 to KidSport PEI
May 11, 2015
Charlottetown, PEI – KidSport PEI announced today that Bell Aliant will continue its longtime support for youth sport in PEI with a $10,000 donation. The company has given nearly $200,000 to the organization over the past 15 years.
“The KidSport program is so important to Island children because it helps remove some of the financial barriers that would otherwise prevent children from participating in organized sporting programs,” said Sport PEI President, Ron Waite. “We are delighted that Bell Aliant shares this commitment to youth sports and have been a strong partner of ours for 15 years.”
Since the program’s inception in 1997, KidSport PEI has given almost $1.2 million in grants, and helped more than 6,500 Island children participate in organized sports.
“The KidSport program makes a huge difference in the life of a child,” said Bruce Howatt, Vice President, PEI at Bell Aliant. “As a longstanding KidSport partner we’ve seen the program’s success stories firsthand and we are proud to continue our support.”
