50 Years of Sport PEI Awards – Glen Miller
The 2023 Sport PEI awards will be our 50th edition! To celebrate this milestone, we wanted to take a look back at those who have received the Lieutenant Governor’s award as PEI’s top athlete of the year.
Glen Miller – 1998 – Soccer
Glen Miller won the Lieutenant Governor’s award in1998 for his accomplishments in the sport of soccer. Miller was a five year member of the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers soccer team where he would find great success. In 1998, Miller’s final season with the Panthers, he would be awarded the Joe Johnstone Memorial Award, which is presented to the top male university soccer player in all of Canada.
Miller was also MVP of the AUAA conference as well as being named an All Canadian, something he accomplished in all five years of eligibility. To celebrate and honour Glen for his illustrious career, UPEI retired his jersey after his final season.
