July 3rd – UPEI Panthers’ Lewis Page appointed as first head coach of Halifax Tides FC; will continue to coach the Panthers until the end of the 2024 varsity season before transitioning to his new role in Halifax.
July 4th – Dave Cameron named head coach of Canada’s National Junior Men’s Hockey Team for third time (2011, 2022); will compete at 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship in Ottawa.
July 9th – Hockey Canada announces Summerside’s Credit Union Place as host site for Game #2 of Rivalry Series between Canada’s National Women’s Team and the United States on February 8th.
July 9th – Ellie Mullins, Petra Klimes, Reese Baker, Isa MacPhee, Kali MacDonald, Megan Mossey, and Taylor Hunter invited to try out for Team Atlantic, which will compete at 2024 National Women’s U18 Hockey Championship. Jess Cameron named as assistant coach and Megan Drouin as athletic therapist.
July 10th – Jake Campbell, Harry Nguyen, James Toombs, and Anders Schmid selected to attend Canada Soccer U15 development camp.
July 12th – Keagan Crawford named alternate for Team Canada Male Compound U21 archery team.
July 12th – Callum McEwan (Figure Skating), Ellen MacNearney (Cross Country Skiing), Tommy Ling (Cross Country Skiing), Genna Phelan (Mission Staff), and Charity Sheehan (Chef de Mission) named to the Special Olympics Team Canada 2025 Training Squad, potential to represent Canada at the 2025 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Torino.
July 13th – Vanessa Keefe wins silver in 68-kg division at U20 Pan-Am Wrestling Championships.
July 13th – Team PEI sweeps Atlantic Bowl, wins gold in both U16 and U18 divisions.
July 14th – Ria Johnston makes her international debut with Team Canada U20 Rugby, scores opening try in 23-10 win over USA during U20 Transatlantic Quad Series.
July 14th – Mark Quinn and Team Canada finish third at WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup – Group B tournament in Prince Albert, qualify for 2026 World Cup Final as the host country.
July 14th – U19 Women Team PEI win bronze at Atlantic Rugby Championships, hosted in Charlottetown.
July 14th – Team PEI wins 10 total medals, including gold by Jeremy Wall, Keagan Waite, and the soccer team, at Special Olympics Nova Scotia provincial games.
July 14th – Liah Mah and Grace Potter won the Women’s Senior 2x (U23 double), Mary MacLean won the Women’s Masters single and teamed up with Tim Randall of the Two Rivers Rowing Club (Fredericton, N.B.) to win the Mixed Masters double at Nova Scotia Sprints.
July 14th – Cory Jay wins Cross Country Olympic (35-44) division, Matthew Hebb wins U11 Cross-Country Short Track division, Gillian Perry places 3rd in U11 XCC and XCO, Team Elin, Levi, Nathan, Cory finish 3rd the relay event at Dieppe Canada Cup.
July 14th – Team PEI U14 Girls basketball win Scotia Showcase championship in Halifax
July 18th – Brett Shaw finishes 2nd and Hunter Crozier finishes 4th at NextGen Atlantic Gold Championships and advance to Junior Nationals.
July 19th – Cam Squires signs entry-level contract with the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League.
July 21st – Team PEI U14 Girls basketball go undefeated and win Summerfest Tournament title in Fredericton, NB.
July 21st – U17 Whitecaps softball win Atlantic Cup in Charlottetown, will compete at Nationals in August.
July 27th – Ryan Taylor serves as Mechanic for Team Canada cycling at Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
July 28th – Team PEI U18s win bronze at National Field Hockey Championships in Surrey, BC. Maggie Mullins and Katie-Grace Noye selected to tournament all-star team.
July 28th – U16 Boys Team PEI wins 5 Star Basketball Classic Tournament U15/U16 division title in Saint John, NB.
July 28th – Riley Bissett wins Rookie of the Year award in East Coast Junior Lacrosse League. First PEI player to win an ECJLL individual honor.
July 28th – U15 Whitecaps softball win Atlantic Cup in Stellarton, Nova Scotia.
July 28th – Islanders Track and Field club athletes win 31 medals at Atlantic Track & Field Championships, including 10 golds:
- Katie Richard (4) – gold in 1500m (20-34), silver in 3000m steeplechase (18-34) and 3000m steeplechase (20-34), and bronze in 1500m (16-34)
- Owen MacNeill (4) – gold in long jump (12+) and long jump (20-34), bronze in triple jump (12+) and triple jump (20-34)
- Oyinkansola Eniola (4) – silver in Women’s 100m (18+), 100m (20+), 200m (18+), and bronze in 200m (20+)
- Owen Goodwin (3) – gold in 400m (18-19), silver in 400m (16-19), and bronze in 200m (18-19)

July 29th – Jack Robinson selected by Hockey Canada to be an official at 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup (U18) in August.
July 29th – PEI rugby players compete at U19 Canadian Rugby Championships in Wolfville, NS as part of Atlantic Selects U19W (Abby Rice, Alanna Mabey, Jenay Spence, Sahara MacLean, & Sofia Atkins), NL Rock U19M (Campbell Wadman, Nathan Gallant, & William Kent), and Team Quebec U19M (Pierce Saunders & Grayson Arbing).
July 30th – Alysha Corrigan earns silver medal with Team Canada in Rugby Sevens at Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games; scores a try in gold medal match.
