50 Years of Sport PEI Awards – Tracy McGee

The 2023 Sport PEI awards will be our 50^th edition! To celebrate this milestone, we wanted to take a look back at those who have received the Lieutenant Governor’s award as PEI’s top athlete of the year.

Tracy McGee – Field Hockey – 1997

Tracy won the Lieutenant Governor’s award in1997 for her accomplishments in the sport of field hockey. In her final year of eligibility with UPEI, Tracy was named the co-winner of the national player-of-the-year award in 1997-98, a CIAU (U Sports) All-Canadian, and won the Gail Wilson award, presented to the intercollegiate field hockey player combining outstanding skills while being an exemplary role model and promoter in the sport.
