She’s Good – Jenna Larter
Sport PEI hosted their 14th She’s Good event, bringing together young female athletes for a day focused on athletic development, confidence, and connection. Participants began with athletic testing in the Performance Hub before taking part in a mental performance session with Mental Performance Coach Meagan Ferguson and a yoga session led by Kelly Cameron.
The event featured special guest Jenna Larter, one of Prince Edward Island’s top speed skating athletes and the first Island Athlete to compete at the Canadian National Long Track Championship. Jenna shared her journey through sport, demonstrating dedication and perseverance, encouraging athletes to always work hard. She spoke about how, when trying to think of a quote that would inspire young athletes to prove how good they are, she realized the person who matters most is yourself. Rather than focusing on impressing others, Jenna encouraged participants to strive to become the best version of themselves and to take pride in their own growth. Her message, “Show yourself how good you can be,” reminded the athletes that self-belief and personal progress are more meaningful than outside recognition. Following her presentation, Jenna joined the participants for a round of disc golf.
The day concluded with a review of the athletes testing results, giving participants valuable insight into their athletic abilities and guidance for future development. By bringing young female athletes together to learn, connect, and be inspired by a local role model, She’s Good continues to empower the next generation of girls in sport across Prince Edward Island.
