Veronica MacLellan
August 31, 2025

Veronica MacLellan earned two bronze medals (para women’s 400m freestyle and 100m backstroke), becoming the third-ever swimmer to win a medal at the Canada Summer Games and second Team PEI athlete to earn two medals at a Canada Games. Veronica also finished in 4th place finish in the Para Women’s 50m freestyle, and a 5th place finish in the Para Women’s 100m.

At just 14 years old, Yolanda won gold in the Under-16 and Under-18 divisions as well as U18 doubles gold with her partner at the Atlantic Junior Tennis Championships! She had a strong showing at Nationals as well making it to the round of 16 and defeating the No. 5 seed!

U15 Whitecaps Softball
June 30, 2025

The U15 Whitecaps softball team started their month off winning the first two legs of the Atlantic Softball Series with undefeated records. They finished even stronger, taking gold at the Quebec Invitational with a tight 1-0 victory over Team Quebec in the finals!

Naiads 11-12 Provincial
May 31, 2025

The Charlottetown Naiads 11-12 Provincial artistic swim team – Livia Flood, Ellie Parsons, Felix Sherren, & Stella Li, coached by Victoria McQuaid & Kathryn Woods – finished their undefeated season by earning top place at the Atlantic Regional Championships in Saint John!

Joëlle became the first Islander to represent Canada as part of a national soccer team earlier this year and played a big part in the U17 CONCACAF qualifiers. She scored an important tying goal from range against Puerto Rico, leading to a win and qualifying spot for Canada in the FIFA World Cup next fall!

Ellen led the way for Special Olympics PEI athletes at the World Games in Turin, claiming three gold medals in cross-country skiing! Ellen took top spot in the 5km, 7.5km, & 4x1km relay to become the first SOPEI athlete with 3 golds at one World Games!
