2026 Baseball Canada Cup Championships
Summerside, PEI
August 5-9, 2026
SUMMERSIDE, PE – The City of Summerside is proud to announce it has been awarded Baseball Canada’s 2026 Canada Cup (17U), marking the first time in over 50 years of event hosting that Summerside will welcome this signature national championship. This milestone solidifies Summerside’s reputation as a premier destination for high-profile sporting events.
Adding to the significance of this achievement, 2026 will mark the first time ever that Summerside will host two Baseball Canada nationals in the same year—a massive undertaking for the Sport Entertainment Tourism Summerside (SETS) team and the dedicated volunteers who make such events possible.
The 2026 Baseball Canada Cup will take place from August 5–9, 2026, featuring under-17 players from all 10 provinces competing for a national title. This tournament is a critical step in the Junior National Team’s pathway, culminating in the World Junior Baseball Championship held every two years.
In addition to the Canada Cup, Summerside will continue its successful partnership with Baseball Canada by hosting the 2026 Ray Carter Cup, the national 15-and-under championship, from August 20–23, 2026. Together, these events will bring exceptional baseball talent to the Island, showcasing the future stars of Canadian baseball.
“The Canada Cup and Ray Carter Cup will bring top-tier baseball to Summerside and provide an impactful boost to our local economy and community pride,” said Mayor Dan Kutcher.
Baseball Canada praised Summerside’s selection as the host city for these prestigious events. “Summerside has a proven track record of hosting successful national championships, and we are excited to bring the 2026 Canada Cup and Ray Carter Cup to this incredible community,” said Jason Dickson, CEO of Baseball Canada.
The Ray Carter Cup and Canada Cup are expected to draw hundreds of athletes, families, and fans to Summerside, contributing significantly to local businesses and tourism. Both tournaments promise unforgettable moments of athleticism and sportsmanship for participants and spectators alike.
As the countdown to 2026 begins, Summerside looks forward to welcoming Baseball Canada, young athletes, and baseball enthusiasts from across the nation.
