UPDATE – COVID 19/Vax Pass – Information Bulletin #3

With the CPHO announcement earlier this week removing the cohort size of the spectator group at Vax Pass events, there have been a few questions particularly around entrance and exit times at arenas.  We also have been fielding a few questions about special circumstances as it relates to different groups within the Vax Pass program.  Knowing that the consistent application of the program is one of the keys for smooth operation across our sector, we are circulating some additional information that will hopefully clarify some questions.

Vax Pass App

The Prince Edward Island’s vaccination verification app – PEI Vax Pass Verifier – is now available for free download on mobile devices and tablets from the Apple app store, and will soon be available on the Google Play app store. We are awaiting final approval from Google on the app.

To support the province’s proof of vaccination requirements, Island businesses, services and events, including not-for-profits and venues, are strongly encouraged to download and use the free app that will read QR codes on the PEI Vax Pass presented by individuals. PEI’s Vax Pass Verifier app makes it easier and quicker for businesses and organizations to ensure the PEI Vax Pass presented is an authentic government-issued record and that the individual is indeed fully vaccinated as per the Public Health Order.

Additionally, the app is able to scan government-issued proof of vaccination QR codes from the majority of Canadian provinces and territories, making it a more streamlined process for businesses and organizations to confirm that the visitor’s proof-of-vaccination is authentic and that the individual meets PEI’s requirement to be fully vaccinated before entering certain locations and events.

The app can also be operated in English or French based on the language preference selected on the mobile device or tablet.
