In memory of a former Island educator, organizers Bob Andrews, Mike Lloyd, Keith Tomkins and Bill Hogg held another annual Glenn Edison Memorial Golf Tournament in support of KidSport PEI.  The tournament, held at Eagles Glenn, saw over 35 sponsors and 80 golfers combine to raise $4525 for the program. The donation will ensure roughly 15 island youth will have the opportunity to participate in organized sport, who otherwise would not have had the chance due to financial barriers.

KidSport organizers are thrilled with the donation and are very grateful for the tournaments success. Sport PEI ED, Gemma Koughan said, “Bob, Keith, Bill and Mike have done a wonderful job each year with the memorial golf tournament.” She went on to say that, “donations like this for the KidSport program make all the difference, these funds will go directly to our youth, ensuring they have a chance to compete with their friends.”

KidSport is a non-profit facilitated by Sport PEI in the province.  The program raises dollars on an annual basis, which are then used as grants for families who make $25,000 or less. The grants can be used towards sport registration and or equipment.
