PEI Gymnasts Place Well at National Championships

Island Gymnastics Academy - 2021 National Ribbons

Island gymnasts enjoyed some outstanding placings at the recent Canadian Championships, which were held virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions cancelling the in-person event.

Pictured with their ribbons are three members of the Island Gymnastics Academy. Pictured, from left are, Ella MacDougall, Victoria Covey, and Sophie Mayne. MacDougall finished in 6th place on vault and was 13th all-around (JO9, 14-plus division), and Mayne had a 6th place on beam and was 15th all-around, in the same division. Covey enjoyed an outstanding meet in the JO10 aged 12-15 category, finishing 6th all-around, 4th on floor and beam, 7th on uneven bars, and 8th on vault.

Karolina Jaeger, not pictured, of the Victory Gymnastics Centre had two 8th place finishes in the JO10 12-15 division, on uneven bars and beam. Jaeger also secured a 10th place all-around finish. Other Island gymnasts to compete were Callie Harding of IGA (17th all-around, JO9 14-plus), Anna Bernard of Summerside Saultos (19th all-around, JO9 14-plus), and Kylee Hill, also of Summerside Saultos (22nd all-around, JO9 14-plus).
