Taking Care of You - Nov 25 22 (2)

The Sport PEI Athlete Health and Performance program is pleased to announce they will hosting an Athlete Wellness educational event, featuring Canadian Golf Hall of Fame Inductee Lorie Kane along with 2022 Pan AM Bronze Medalist Hannah Taylor.

“The Athlete day is designed to help developing athletes build physical, mental and emotional capabilities to be successful in sport and life”, says Randy Goodman, Sports Physiotherapist and Director of the Sport PEI Athlete Health and Performance Program.  “Our goal”, adds Goodman, “is to provide resources and educational events for athletes, parents and coaches to foster the understanding of athlete health and performance in PEI”.

The event, which is also supported by the Province of PEI (Health and Wellness), is also in preparation for performance by athletes attending this summer’s Canada Games.

Also leading the day is International Olympic Committee Certified Dietitian, Nancy Fong,  and Mental Performance Consultant Meagan Ferguson and Tara Costello.

Topics for the day include tools for mental performance, controlling the controllables, fueling for success, managing the transition to higher level sports, and dealing with the “noise” of major events with social media etc.

The event will be hosted at Sport PEI November 25, 2022.  To register contact Sport PEI at https://forms.gle/STYT3Bw3BjSSFvGm7 or call 902-368-6253.
