The day consisted of informational sessions with Mental Trainer Tara
Costello, Nutritionist Bethany Vessey and a Q&A skype with two-time
Olympian Jared Connaughton. There was
physical testing done, in accordance with Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic, and a
work out with Personal Trainer Kris MacPhee. This exposure, to such vital parts of becoming elite athletes, provides
them with not only an introduction to the information, but the professionals
needed to aid in the process.
During his skype Q&A, Jared Connaughton talked about some of the
constraints in having big dreams and living in a small province. He assured the athletes this was not to be
used as an excuse, but a motivator to work harder, and be better. Participating in events like last Friday’s,
is a step in the right direction.

Sport PEI in the near future!
