LtGovernor Award v2 (2)
The 2023 Sport PEI awards will be our 50th edition! To celebrate this milestone, we wanted to take time this year to look back at those who have received the Lieutenant Governor’s award as PEI’s top athlete of the year.

Heather Moyse – Rugby/Bobsleigh – 2006, 2010, 2013, 2014

Heather was first awarded with the Lieutenant Governor’s award in 2006 after attending the Olympics for the first time finishing 4th in bobsleigh and attending the Rugby World Cup and finishing in 4th and as the tournament’s top scorer.

Heather was recognized for her achievements again as PEI’s top athlete in 2010 (Bobsleigh – Olympic Gold medal, Rugby World Cup), 2013 (Rugby World Cup Sevens silver medal), and 2014 (Olympic gold medal).

Heather has since received the Order of PEI (2014), been inducted into the World Rugby Hall of Fame (2016), and the Canada Games Hall of Honour (2023).
