Sport PEI is excited to announce that we will be hosting our 2023 Amateur Sport Awards Banquet on December 15th, 2023 at the Florence Simmons Performance Hall. We are looking forward to honouring the Island’s best and brightest from this year and hope you can join us!

December 15th will be another special night in Island sport as Sport PEI prepares to host its 50th annual awards at Holland College in the Florence Simmons Performance Hall. The evening will showcase the Island’s finest amateur sporting accomplishments from 2023. Nominations are open in several categories including: Senior, Junior, and Intercollegiate athletes of the year, Masters athlete of the year, Volunteer Administrator of the year, Official of the year, Coach of the year, Team of the year, Event of the year, and the True Sport Award.

After another strong year from our PEI athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and teams, we are very excited to receive nominations from the Island community. Deadline for nominations will be November 8th, 2023. We realize that more achievements may happen following the deadline for nominations, so special consideration will be made for those accomplishments.

Junior Male Athlete of the Year: RJ Hetherington, Wrestling

Intercollegiate Female Athlete of the Year: Frances MacWilliam, Rugby (UPEI)

Intercollegiate Male Athlete of the Year: Nick Robertson, Athletics (Dalhousie)

Team of the Year Award: PEIFC U15 Girls, Soccer

Coach of the Year Award: James Voye, Rugby

Official of the Year Award: Marc Gilman, Athletics

Administrator of the Year Award: Nancy Russell, Rowing

Masters of the Year Award: Jamie Morse, Archery

President’s Award: Susan Dalziel, Hockey; Tim Murphy, Wrestling

Premier’s Award: Lacrosse PEI

Event of the Year Award: Canadian Outdoor Archery Championships

Inspiration Award: Jenna Larter, Speed Skate
