Junior Male Athlete Award: Jayden Arsenault
Junior Female Athlete Award: Daisy Li
Isabel Campanaro has been skating with her club since she moved to PEI in 2015 and is a high achiever on and off the ice. On the ice, she has an amazing work ethic. She is a gold test skater who shows dedication and passion for the sport of skating. Most importantly, she truly loves each moment on the ice, she comes off the ice with a big smile and a kind word for herself for the effort and bravery she has shown in competition.
Jayden Arsenault skated in STAR 6 Men at the STARSkate event and qualified for the 2023 Atlantic Canada Skating Championships in Newfoundland, where he took home the silver medal in his event. On top of singles skating he also competes on the Velocity Synchro team that competed at this year’s Atlantic Regionals Synchronized skating championships.
Daisy Li represented her province well at this year’s Canada Winter Games. She is a role model for others in her club who have also recently moved here from China. She hopes to continue to inspire others to train competitively in figure skating, and that through hard work they too can one day represent their province in the sport she loves. Daisy had a busy season competing at the 2023 Skate Canada PEI/NB Sectionals, the 2023 Canada Winter Games and the 2023 Atlantic Canada Skating Championships.
