2019 Gymnastics PEI ADL Awards

 

Gymnasts from the Island Gymnastics Academy proudly show off their ADL Certificates of Achievement, following the recent Gymnastics PEI awards presentations in Summerside. Pictured, from left, are Tyler Kowalski, representing ADL; Isaac Landry, Provincial Stream Award; Ryan Dwyer, Junior Male Award; and Trent Quinn, winner of the Senior Male Athlete Award. All three were provincial champions in their respective divisions, while Landry won the Atlantic Level 2 title, Dwyer won a bronze medal at the Eastern Canadian Championships in Elite 3, and Quinn qualified for individual all around finals at the Canada Games in Red Deer. 

 


Gymnasts show off their ADL Certificates of Achievement following the recent Gymnastics PEI Award in Summerside. From left, are Alexa Ellis representing Sport PEI; Chloe Cudmore, Senior female Award; Kristi Shoemaker (MacLeod), Coach of the Year; Jayda McMahon, Junior Female Award; and Bailey Burke, JO Compulsory Award. Cudmore, from the Victory Gymnastics Centre, represented PEI at both Canada Games and Nationals, where she had the third best score on vault on the opening day; Shoemaker, head coach at Victory, had three gymnasts place appear at both nationals and Canada Games; McMahon, from the Summerside Saultos, had four first all-around title wins in 2019, while Burke, from the Island Gymnastics Academy, was Level 5 champion at both Provincial and Atlantic Championships.  


 


Ella MacDougall, Lilly Coughlin and Callie Harding are all smiles after the winning the Team of the Year award at the recent GPEI annual awards presentations. The girls, all from the Island Gymnastics Academy, won a bronze medal at Novice Level 8 at the Eastern Canadian Championships held in Summerside.


 


2019 Club Coaches: Club coaches were honoured recently at the annual Gymnastics PEI awards in Summerside. Pictured with GPEI President Jeff MacRae are Janell Poulton, left (Victory Gymnastics Centre) and Natalie Haddad (Island Gymnastics Academy). Poulton has helped grow the recreation program at Victory, while Haddad currently coaches the up and coming gymnasts in the 10-hour competitive group. Missing from the picture is Kylee Hill, Club Coach award winner for the Summerside Saultos.
