The Sport Fair is about introducing young people to the basic movement skills of sport. As children play and try different sports, they develop a broad base of fundamental motor skills.
The Sport Fair is hosted by Sport PEI in conjunction with the Provincial Sport Organizations. Elementary schools from across the province are offered the opportunity to attend.
The first Sport Fair was held in 2007 at the UPEI Chi-Wan Young Sport Centre and moved to the Norton Diamond Indoor Soccer Complex.
In 2016, the format changed and single morning events are held at local High Schools across the province for children in grade three. Students within the family of that particular school are invited along with 8 PSO's for a morning of fun and sport. The Leadership classes in the high school help with the planning and execution of the day.
If you would like to host a SportFair at your school or you are with a PSO who would like to take part, please contact Lynn Boudreau (902) 368-6253 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
