Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign Huge Success for KidSport

Islanders, and Tim Hortons locations on PEI, showed their support for KidSport in the recent Smile Cookie Campaign this fall.  Just over $37,000 was raised, selling smile cookies for $1, with the full $1 going to the charity.  The Smile Cookie Campaign is a nationwide fundraising initiative by Tim Hortons, with the various owners choosing where the funds raised will go.  KidSport was the 2016 charity of choice for Tim Hortons PEI locations, a charity that works to break down the financial barriers in sport for youth.

Tracey Clements, President of Sport PEI, says “the amount of funds raised by the Smile Cookie Campaign, and Tim Hortons, is a massive help in ensuring youth across PEI will have the opportunity to participate in sport.” “The demand for KidSport funding is growing each year, which means the more money we can raise, the more children KidSport can support.”

KidSport is a national non-for-profit organization the provides financial assistance for registration fees and equipment to kids aged 18 and under.  Last year alone, KidSport PEI supported 640 youth across the Island in 23 different sports with grants totaling over $150,000.  For more information on how to donate or make an application for grants, please contact sports@sportpei.pe.ca or call 902 368 4110.
